Irving Castle in Irvinestown, County Fermanagh Ireland. In the early 1600s after the union of the crowns (England and Scotland) with one King (James) with two colonies needing to be populated with loyal subjects (one in the Americas and another in Northern Ireland – Ulster Plantation) Irvings from both branches (Bonshaw and Drum) took up lands in the Ulster Plantation and established an Irish branch using mostly the IRVINE spelling. Castle Irvine is one of the homesteads established in Ireland.
